Dying mom has the most selfless final wish for her daughter and it is resonating deeply with parents

Most parents look out for their children even above their own needs. They do everything in their power to ensure that their children are safe and happy. A woman experienced something similar with her dying mom who asked for one final thing from her. The mom wanted her daughter to get the knee surgery that she had been pushing off for a long time and the woman was overwhelmed that her mom was still concerned about her even while being in pain. The daughter, Kristi Johnson, who goes by @kristidjohnson on TikTok, took to the platform to share the incident.

Johnson shared a clip from January 2021 of her mother bringing her food. "When my mom was dying of cancer, she asked one thing of me...She asked me to go ahead and schedule my knee surgery so she'll still be here to take care of me," she shared. The woman ended up scheduling the surgery as per her mom's request. "Even though she was already on hospice, she came to take care of me." The mom even slept in a chair beside her daughter. She cooked and cleaned for the woman for two whole days even after being in pain herself. Johnson ended up taking a lot of pictures of her mom as she was afraid that it could be the last time she was staying at her house.

"She taught us to care for others...hope we are making her proud," the daughter expressed. It was the last time her mom stayed at her house and she was gone after a few months. "We gave her the party she had requested for instead of a traditional funeral," Johnson highlighted. "We covered the event hall with all her beautiful pictures and all her art that she created." The woman used all of her mom's recipes and even made her favorite foods that she was known for in the family. The daughter captioned the video, "My mom asked me for only one thing before she passed."

The video hit home for many parents. @mellyluv11 wrote, "Your mom’s thought process was, even though I may not be here as long as I would like, I want my baby to know I will take care of her no matter what.
