Golfer moves fan to tears with wholesome trade after she got him a special gift

For golfer Collin Morikawa, his meet with a young fan has hearts melting in awe. The golfer had just finished his first round during the CJ Cup when a young fan, Zella, hurried over, per GOLF.

The athlete who was signing autographs was all smiles on seeing a group of young kids including Zella, awestruck by seeing him in person. PGA Tour shared a heartwarming clip of the duo’s interaction. Interacting with nothing but smiles, Zella pulled out a gift she had specially brought for Morikawa. Mustering all her courage despite blushing, she said, “You’re my favorite golfer and I want you to have this. It’s from me to you,” she exclaimed. With all giggles, she very sweetly handed the golfer a putter cover.

Caught in a fangirling moment, Zella and her fellow young fans couldn't help but blush. “What!” the golfer exclaimed, as he took the putter cover in his hand. He delightfully looked over at the young girl and said, “Now I’ve gotta go get something for you!” With jaws dropping, smiles stretching from ear to ear, and eyes staring in surprise, the girls got all giggly and excited to see what Moriwaka had in store for them. A few seconds later, the golfer suggested Zella take back the putter cover with his autograph on it. “I want you to have this, I’ll sign it,” he said.

A woman nearby chimed in, saying that the young girl had specifically brought him the gift. “She wants you to have it, she got it for you,” the woman said. “For me?” Moriwaka asked. He then got a Sharpie and requested Zella to sign the putter cover for it, leaving her baffled. As the young girl took the same in her hand and tried to sign it, she exclaimed, “I’m literally shaking.” “I’ll trade you for it,” Morikawa remarked. He took the putter cover from Zella and returned one of his golf gloves to her in exchange for it.

Smitten, Zella was later interviewed by the PGA Tour team. She revealed that she had slipped in a note with her Instagram for the golfer. On being asked why Morikawa was her favorite golfer, she replied with the cutest giggle, “He’s kind of cute.” Zella, together with her gang of young fans, began chuckling adorably in unison. In a follow-up video, Morikawa directed his message to Zella and mentioned that he came across the interview and "immediately got out of bed to find the note."
