Grandmother saved grandchild's 'letter to Santa' from years ago — it's the wish for 'Whiskers' that steals the spotlight

As children, we often ask for the things we want the most. If you’ve ever read a child’s wish list, it could include toys, candy and possibly imaginary animals. However, if a child asks for something for their loved ones, they certainly have a huge place reserved for them in the kid's heart. u/trochantericfracture shared a letter they had written to Santa years ago. It contained a wish that only a child could write. However, the wish has everyone in awe. It’s a clear expression of the sweetest and most innocent love ever. “My grandmother saved this letter that I wrote to Santa,” the caption of the post read, along with the image of a handwritten letter.

The letter consisted of a very short and sweet wish, written in broken handwriting with the purest heart. It read, “Dear Santa, I want you to get Whiskers what she’s always wanted.” The next line explained that Whiskers was their pet cat and had the most adorable concluding message. “I love Whiskers, and I want her to be happy on Christmas,” the last sentence read. If nothing else, the brilliant letter is loaded with an unconditional love for the lucky Whiskers. People were in awe of Whiskers, but also of the selfless love the person had, even at a presumably young age.

u/adaniel4176 said, “It’s sweet that you were thinking about your kitty and wanted Santa to get a gift for Whiskers—knowing that it could be in the place of yours. Very selfless and thoughtful of you!” u/devo197979 joked, “Whiskers hopefully woke up to a box full of fat mice on Christmas morning.” u/ShadowDeveloper remarked, “Children can be little gremlins, but holy crap can they also be angels. I love this so much!” u/Fossekall added, “Way too cute.” Children’s letters to Santa often contain the most unexpected and wholesome wishes. Right from hoping they get a new friend to be able to have all the candy in the world, these wishes are beyond creative.

In another letter to Santa, a little girl named Nadia made a tear-jerking request, per Love What Matters. Her wish was quite unusual, which moved her mom, Diana Vasquez, to wholesome tears. Nadia wrote, “Dear Santa Claus, since you have been giving us presents every year, this year, I ask for nothing.” The girl gratefully noted, “I have toys, a home, a family and love.” While the letter was already wholesome, the girl’s request that followed was heart-melting. She wrote, “So this year, I want to make you something. So tell me what you want. I will make it. Love, Nadia."
"My 8-year-old daughter left this note for our Elf, Twinkle, to take to Santa. When I found it, my heart melted, and I cried,” the mom said. She was left teary-eyed with several others as they learned an important message about Christmas. “I’ve always tried to instill the true spirit of Christmas into each of my daughters. There are times that we wonder if we’re doing a good enough job raising good people. She has learned the spirit of giving. So, relax, Santa! Enjoy your moment to be pampered. This Christmas, we’re giving back!" she concluded.
