Going out on a date after 10 years can feel confusing and overwhelming. After separating from her partner, a single mom, Yesenia Solis (@yeseniasolis3), hadn't been on a date in a decade. However, she had been talking to someone recently who asked her out on a date. Unfortunately, she had to cancel on him to look after her kids. The date decided to drop by her door and surprise her with a gift bag that left her stunned. Sharing the story with her TikTok followers on December 3, 2025, Solis revealed that her experience turned her date into the definition of a "green flag."

Solis hadn't been in the dating pool for a long time. Following her separation from her child's father, she decided to hop on the dating scene after she met a man a week ago at a party. The two arranged a date, and he was looking forward to the day. But her baby daddy had asked her to watch the kids, so she couldn't leave her daughters to go on the date. When the man messaged her and checked in on her to confirm the date, Solis decided to take a rain check. "I canceled. I was like, 'I'm sorry, I can't go out today.' I told him, 'If you want, we can reschedule,'" she said.

The man understood her situation. He asked her if he could drop by at her place and give her a gift he had already bought. Solis, who was confused, told him that he could give it to her on their date. However, the man insisted that he just wanted to give the gift and he wouldn't bother her further. She sent him the address, and in thirty minutes, the man arrived at her doorstep. As she opened the door, she couldn't help but admire his looks. "He looks very handsome," she exclaimed. He handed her the gift and left, as Solis rushed inside to see what he had given her. Opening the package in front of the camera, the woman was stunned to see that her date had gifted a backpack for her daughter.

Turns out, the man had previously asked Solis what her favorite princess was, and she told him that it was Rapunzel. Surprisingly, the man had purchased a Rapunzel-themed school bag for her daughter. He had also given her a bag of chocolates along with the package. Solis, who was stunned by the gift, couldn't believe what she was seeing. "Men like that exist?" she wondered.

TikTok followers expressed their heartfelt thoughts about the story. @Jenna wrote, "Go on the date! He is worth checking out, and not because of the gift but because he listens and understands that you are a mom first. This is cute and thoughtful, and his way of letting you know, 'I'm interested.'" @juniorsoto310 commented, "There are some of us who understand that a single mother has a lot to do with their kids. And do not force them into things they're not ready for." @Mr_Escalera shared, "As a man who is old school, I understand that he was raised right. He understands it's in the 'small things.' Guard your heart, but be open to new love. There are still good men out there. 'Chivalry isn't dead.'"
