Man goes old school and emails Hinge date's 'grandma' for approval — savage response leaves him amazed
Some women really have unique plans for the ways they want gentlemen to ask them out. The boring texts and casual conversations don’t stand a chance against traditional romantic methods. With a hilarious mix of contemporary and authentic dating styles, a man named Zane (@zanenazane) shared a one-of-a-kind dating encounter. Zane mentioned that he stumbled across the profile of a woman named Micaela on the dating app Hinge. One of the things that stood out to him in her profile was the description that read, "The best way to ask me out is by emailing by grandma." Intrigued by it, he decided to give it a shot.
After matching with Micaela, Zane texted her to inquire about how to contact her 'grandmother.' He even asked about the best time to email her and joked about sharing a resume with 'grandma' so he could earn some plus points. but he did not know what was in store for him. After receiving the grandma’s email, he emailed her only to receive the cutest and most special message. The email that came from the other side was a mix of savage and humor. “Hello ZaNe, while you seem like a nice gentleman, you cannot take my granddaughter away from me to Italy,” the email began. The 'grandma' claimed that in her 50s, she dated a man from Pennsylvania and she “stayed clear from that state.”
All being said, the 'grandma' gave her blessing to the man with special instructions to follow. Seeming like a perfect beginning of a romantic genre, the lady asked, “Make sure the Fettuccine Alfredo is gluten-free!” She also requested that Zane make the date “as fun as her cousin David’s Bar Mitzvah coming up in May.” Concluding the email, the woman signed off, “Blessing you, Micaela’s grandma.” Zane was impressed by the flow of events. He also added that he “might have found a new best friend” in the form of the 'grandma,' given her wonderful personality that came across in the email.

Unfortunately, to Zane’s disbelief, there was a hilarious blunder in the story. The man revealed in a series of threads that the grandma he had been texting and hoping to befriend was actually Micaela's friend. One of her best friends had stepped up as the grandma to play around and ensure Micaela was going out with a genuine man. “As disappointed as I am that it wasn’t Micaela’s grandma, she deserves all the credit for being a good friend and giving me a laugh. You’re grandma of the year in my book, Carly.”
in case you didn’t see already, i found out @CJenican was actually the one who wrote this email so as disappointed as i am that it wasn’t micaela’s grandma, she deserves all the credit for being a good friend and giving me a laugh. you’re grandma of the year in my book, carly

People had a good laugh at the situation and were rooting for Zane and Micaela. Many pointed out that his effort to email a woman’s grandma is the most heartfelt old-school method that is commendable. @robbleton wrote, “This is unbelievably cute and wholesome.” @PowerofAcadame joked, “David's bar mitzvah in May's probably gonna be quite an extravaganza. So that's a pretty high bar. Good luck!” @LexBaby23 hilariously added, “The fact you believed you really had to email her grandmother though.” @alexandershulan remarked, “This is the most ‘hinge’ tweet of all time.”
