First dates are always exciting; the curiosity to know the person, the awkward first interactions, and the other little moments. An X user named Lissa, who goes by (@lizzkelly7), like any other woman, was flattered when her date, who was an accountant, offered to pay for her latte. However, the next morning, she woke up to an Excel spreadsheet emailed by him. The man had noted every single expense and split it for her to pay her share. She revealed the bizarre incident on May 17, 2026. While she chose to reimburse the amount, she also responded with a savage Venmo caption before blocking him.

Lissa ordered a standard latte on their date, while the man asked for a drip coffee. During the time of payment, he insisted on handling the bill, which came to about $4.50. However, the next morning she woke up to an Excel sheet in which he had broken down the cost of her latte and mentioned the 15% tip. He also accounted for the wear and tear of his vehicle for the 1.2 miles he drove her. He sent her a total of $3.82, which she needed to pay him. The woman, who was furious after reading the email, sent him $5 with a caption that said, "Keep the change, invest it in a therapist."

The post left online users baffled. @TobechiOgazi noted, "The spreadsheet was not even the wildest part. It was confidently sending it after saying 'I got this' like it was a normal human interaction. Accounting really followed him home." @GoalsGuild quipped, "Sending a depreciation-adjusted coffee invoice after a first date is insane behavior." @martyweilwapost wrote, "So that's what they teach at accounting school? Very funny. But he was probably trying to show off his training and skills and didn't realize that not everyone would be impressed."

Some people treat dates like a transaction, and it really kills the vibe. Lissa's post reminds us of another X user, Queeneth, who was taken on an expensive date by a wealthy man. Everything went well until the $85k bill arrived. He immediately pretended to have forgotten his wallet. She quietly paid the bill, but upon returning to their car, he revealed that she had "passed the gold digger test." He noted that he wanted to test if she was a "provider woman." However, she smartly responded, stating, "A provider woman provides for a king, not a man who lies about his wallet to play games. Consider the 85k a tip for the performance."
