Mom was teaching 4-year-old about 'stranger danger'—his response leaves her rolling with laughter

It is crucial to teach kids about stranger danger, especially when they are still learning how to interact with the world. Most parents let kids transparently know that strangers may lure them with something they love as a disguise to kidnap or mistreat them. Kids are also taught what to do should they experience such situations. A 31-year-old mom named Lindsey–who goes by @Lindseymbroz on TikTok–was teaching her 4-year-old son, Rowan James, about how unknown people can come up to him when he’s unsupervised and put his life at risk by luring him. She asked her kid what he would do should such a situation happen and she was not prepared for his response. It has caught many off guard.

Lindsey had explained what stranger danger is, but wanted to know whether James had an idea of what to do. So she asked him, “If someone comes up to you and asks, ‘Hey little boy, you want to get in my car to have some candy and a puppy,’ what do you say?” No one expected the 4-year-old to say what he did, but it was a brilliantly accurate response. He said, “No, thank you and my papa is gonna come and he’s gonna whoop your candy a**.” Lindsey was surprised at what she heard. “I did not teach him to say it. He's four, so it's always a surprise what might come out of his mouth,” she noted, per Newsweek.

In the video, the mom burst into laughter as she heard the confident boy speak. She assured him he wasn’t wrong and that his “papa” had his back. Lindsey noted that her son was referring to his grandpa, whom he was very close to. She mentioned that James very smartly figured that his grandpa would come through and beat up the strangers as the duo enjoyed watching wrestling together. Parents were delighted to hear his quirky response and were curious about the creative answers their kids would come up with. @tamaramitchell622 said, “I asked my son what he would do in a case of stranger danger and he said, ‘Stop, drop and roll.’”

@carolynanderson remarked, “Our grandson said he’s supposed to say please and thank you.” Many others had respect for the boy and could tell how strong his relationship was with his grandpa. @statenislandmarj noted, “I love the passive aggressiveness on this cutie.” @justheatherlynn said, “He already knows his papa doesn't play about him.” Having kids speak their raw honesty is one of the sweetest and most hysterical things to witness.

In a similar instance, a mom named Rochè Smith (@mummyroche) shared the hilarious question her son, Ke’Shawn, asked her. The 8-year-old was super confused after his conversation with the lunch lady at school and randomly asked his mother, “Am I a lesbian or vegan?” The mom knew her son didn’t have a complete idea about what the term meant and so she asked him what prompted him to ask. He replied, “I asked my teacher because there were sausage rolls, chips and fish.” His mom said, “So what did they ask you? If you’re a vegan or…?” “A lesbian,” he replied. The teacher meant vegan or pescatarian, but the boy jumbled the big words, leading to the hilarious mishap. Kids speaking their minds will always be a colorful experience!
