Pitbull saw owner and her friend being attacked—her quick action saved them from domestic abuser

Dogs have a loyalty that is bound with selfless love. Many canines risk their lives for the sake of their owners’ safety. A pitbull Labrador mix, Camie, went out of her way when she learned that her owner and her friend were in serious trouble, per Love What Matters. The woman’s friend had been with an abusive partner and things got so dangerous that he was trying to harm both of them. While the duo was helpless, Camie noticed the situation and sprang into action. Her brave and astute response saved the women's lives. The woman noted how her friend’s partner was an “abusive sociopath.” It took the friend a while to realize and eventually she tried to leave him.
“One day while he was assaulting her, she managed to get away from him, and drove the short distance to my house to be safe,” the woman said. Unfortunately, the ruthless man followed her to the house, broke open the windows and unlocked the door. He immediately went after both women. “I wish I could say that either of us made a valorous stand against him, but we didn’t,” the pet owner said, adding that they were both helpless. “He cornered us quickly and used his fists and my scarves to subdue us. He told us what he was going to do to us both and I had pretty much resigned myself to it, too beaten to fight,” she noted.
Having gotten “cold and numb,” the women feared what awaited them in the moments to come until the canine came through. The woman noted that though Camie is “goofy and gentle,” she left her baffled with her response. “She had never so much as snarled. She is not the most intelligent dog, but she is silly and sweet. However, when Camie got a hold of this guy, she was a different animal,” she revealed. The canine realized that the man meant harm and instantly switched on her protective mode. “She was wild-eyed and foaming at the mouth, bleeding from all of the cuts she’d gotten from the glass and not giving a single hoot,” the pet owner remarked.
The dog was ready to attack the man and seconds before she could, the woman’s dad arrived home. Though the man tried to escape, Camie ensured he didn’t get the chance to run away. The police arrived and charges were pressed. The women were safe, thanks to an angel of a dog who turned into the most loyal soldier. Looking back at the instance that took place a few years ago, the woman noted that she’d still be grateful for the time her canine came through most bravely. “She’s an old girl now. An old, sweet, loving girl. Her mind is starting to go and so are her hind legs. She may not remember what she did for me (and my friend), but I won’t forget,” the woman poignantly noted. “Dogs are often called man’s best friend, but sometimes they’re more than just friends—they’re our heroes,” she concluded.
