Rude customer watching a game yelled at bartender for talking while she took an order — his demeaning remark backfired instantly
Customers are said to be kings, and waiters do everything in their power to make them feel comfortable. Yet, even those who are paying need to have some ethics and respect toward fellow human beings. A bartender named Samantha revealed how she dealt with a disrespectful man who kept yelling at her and a customer. In her Instagram video on Monday, October 5, 2026, under the handle @miss.samantha.b, she mentioned that she was taking an order, but he was too upset that her talking was disturbing his ability to hear the ongoing match on TV. After multiple polite attempts to converse, she pulled one final move to shut him up.
The man was watching the game, and Samantha was doing her job of taking a woman’s order. He instantly got annoyed and yelled at her, demanding she turn her volume down. He did it a second time, and even shouted at the customer for being "too loud." The bartender explained that she had to tend to others who had as much right to be there as he did, but to no avail. Then came his sexist remark to the female customer— “Do I need to put on Desperate Housewives for you? Obviously you women have no idea what a game is.” The worker had enough, and immediately turned the TV off. “There, we don’t have to worry about it at all,” Samantha said.
The employee noted that the man’s tantrums were getting out of hand. After demanding that the TV volume be turned up, he even complained that the receipt-printing machine was too loud. He was being irrational, and the biased remark was the last straw. Eventually, she had to deal with him the way she dealt with her children. As expected, he was livid after that move, demanded the manager, and got aggressive. However, her manager simply told him that Samantha was allowed to call the shots. He refused to tip her before he left, clearly showing his dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, that didn’t work because the bartender wasn't concerned about his decision to withhold the tip.
Difficult customers are rarely a surprise for hospitality workers. Yet, they are skilled enough to deal with them in their own creative ways. In another instance, a group of men at a restaurant immediately began mansplaining their views to a waitress. The second she walked over with water, one of them told her she was apparently doing it wrong, then explained that she could just hold all three cups in her arms without a tray. Instead of going off on him for telling her how she had to do her job, she outsmarted his move. She pretended to be stunned by his idea and said, “I didn’t know you could do that. You’re so smart.” While they had no idea, her plan worked perfectly. She received a generous tip by the end of the meal.
