The common phrase, “To err is human, to forgive is divine,” is easier said than done. Often, we find ourselves in a position to forgive but can’t seem to get to it due to so many other overwhelming factors. A pastor, Neal Seiwert (@neil.seiwert), shared a beautiful instance of how the life of a delivery driver, Suzanna, was changed after she made a mistake. The woman mixed up the address and accidentally delivered his order to another and was feeling horrible about it. When she began apologizing profusely, Seiwert saw beyond her mistake. He saw her genuineness, her humility, her kindness and so much more. Her sincerity pushed him to do something unexpected to completely transform the woman’s life.

The video captured the woman at Seiwert’s doorstep, super upset about her mistake. She explained how the address numbers got mixed up, causing her to deliver the pizza to the wrong place. “I’m getting old,” she added, trying her best to convince the customer that it was an earnest mistake and she was going to fix it right away. The pastor patiently listened to her apology and before she could go ahead, feeling worse about the error, he said, “I think we can work something out,” assuring the woman that it wasn’t the end of the world if he didn’t get his pizza. “Don’t feel bad for one second. We love you and Jesus loves you,” he said.

The delivery woman, feeling extremely guilty until then, immediately froze. His soothing words made her take a breath of relief. Seiwert added that it was fine if they didn’t receive their pizza and that they were still having a great family time, regardless. He assured her she hadn’t ruined anything. Almost holding back tears, the woman’s worry began to disappear from her face and a tender smile surfaced. As the man continued to converse with Suzanna, she opened up and revealed that she was struggling with things and times were tough. Without missing a beat, Seiwert called his daughters and wife over to the door and asked them to join him in praying for her.

As they kept their hands on her shoulder, one statement pushed the woman to tears. “She’s more important than any of these orders,” Seiwert said in his prayer. People were moved by the kindness and forgiveness Seiwert was able to give to the woman. It gave her an added sense of peace, which was more priceless than anything else. In a follow-up video, Seiwert revealed that he had been speaking to the woman and learned that she was a single mum struggling in her own way. Moreover, she also had some nerve damage and needed help with treatment. The pastor met with the delivery woman and explained how people wanted to reach out.

Seeing people inspired by his act, he set up a GoFundMe and asked the community to share what they could to help Suzanna. The initial goal wasn’t high but with generosity pouring in, in yet another video, the people voted to raise the funds raised to $75,000. So far, nearly $60,000 has been raised and Seiwert is eager to reveal it to Suzanna. The support has already become a blessing that will change her life and this can only go higher from here.
