Shopper mistook her husband for a Nike employee at the store — 30 minutes later, his wife had a realization about their marriage
Some people are remarkably generous, even toward complete strangers. Instagram user Sierra Soole (@sierransoole) and her husband were shopping at Nike when a stranger mistook her husband for an employee. However, what followed over the next 30 minutes made her realize his true worth in their marriage. Sharing the video with her Instagram followers, Sierra shared what kind of person she is married to.
Sierra and her husband were shopping at Nike when a man asked him about a pair of shoes. Her husband did not correct him because he didn’t have the heart to turn him away. He helped him pick out the shoes he was looking for and continued assisting him for 30 minutes. Sierra, who was watching this, felt emotional and noted how helpful her husband was to a stranger. In the video shared by the woman, her husband can be seen accompanying the man while choosing the right pair of shoes and even offering suggestions on what to buy.
Sierra, overwhelmed by his kindness, captioned the video, "Just the best guy around." Kindness becomes even more meaningful when the person offering help expects nothing in return. When Soole's husband was mistaken for an employee, he could have corrected the misunderstanding and continued shopping. Instead, he recognized that the stranger needed help finding the right shoes. Despite not working there, he chose to assist him, even though there was nothing to gain. This selfless attitude reflects the empathy and understanding that many people struggle to show.
Watching her husband being kind to a stranger did not surprise her, as it reflects who he is, even in their marriage. Oftentimes, people expect their partners to be kind only to them. Many people can be rude or indifferent to strangers, since they feel no obligation toward them. True kindness, however, is not measured by relationships but by how one treats others in general. Sierra's husband's selfless act can have a ripple effect, encouraging others to show more compassion and kindness in their everyday interactions.
