While traveling by air, the goal is to have a peaceful and comfortable flight. However, another passenger's journey shouldn’t be affected because of this. A Reddit user who goes by u/frozenbroccolis shared a post on October 26, 2024, about how they had to deal with a woman who made them get up 13 times during a 2-hour flight. Posted by CHEEZburger in February 2025, the story revealed that, along with this, she was a chaotic co-traveler altogether. Frustrated by her constant disturbance, they paid $11.30 for WiFi and made one request to the air hostess as a genius way to seek revenge.

During the flight, the woman made the passenger get up 13 times to step into the aisle and stretch, leaving them enraged. Fed up with her careless behavior, they purchased WiFi worth $11.30 and looked up spoilers for the book she was reading. But they planned to deliver this flawlessly. Moments before descent, they called the flight attendant and mentioned they would need assistance to get off the plane and would wait until the other passengers had deboarded. The woman instantly got upset. After 30 rows of travelers had deplaned, they finally got up to leave. “I turned around, looked at her, and destroyed the book for her, telling her major plot points and what the entire ending of the book was going to be,” they proudly shared.

The passenger mentioned that they had specifically requested the emergency exit aisle seat because they wanted the extra legroom. However, those plans were shattered when the woman arrived with her bulky bags, which took up all the space. After much back and forth and a warning from the flight attendant, she moved her luggage into the overhead bins and under her seat, but kept swearing at them under her breath. To top it off, she made them get up 13 times, and they couldn’t let her get away with it. After revealing the spoilers, they said, “Have a great day,” before walking off triumphantly. The user later shared the photo of her bags and the book on Imgur.

Flyers choose seating arrangements, sometimes paying an added amount or making careful efforts to book in advance, just so they can be comfortable on their trip. According to a survey conducted by Upgraded Points of around 3,142 U.S. passengers, 60% said they would pay extra to reserve a seat of their choice. While the window and aisle preferences are important, even where someone sits on the aircraft makes a difference to travelers. Many choose which area to sit in depending on the deplaning procedures, services, legroom, and other factors. 41% said they would take on the responsibility of sitting in an emergency exit row just so they could have extra legroom

So naturally, when all that careful planning is ruined, anyone would get agitated. Commenters supported the passenger's revenge. u/_IslandOfMisfitPets_ said, “Brilliant! Sometimes you got to hit them where it hurts.” u/Movieman_Steve added, “Probably the best $11.30 you ever spent.” u/OverallRow1104 remarked, “I was hoping you were going to say after taking your time being assisted off the plane you ran down the concourse... but what you did with the book was kind of brilliant.”
