Woman made a list of 'wishes' when she was 7 years old — and it's every adult's elusive dream

As children, we have the wildest minds and the simplest hearts. This combination often results in a unique imagination like no other. Unfortunately, as we grow up, our thought processes change and we become more practical and less abstract. A woman who goes by u/MsScreenQueen on Reddit revealed that she too had a bizarrely colorful imagination when she was a child. She shared a glimpse of her activity sheet from when she was 7 years old and while it has us in stitches, it is also a reminder for adults to focus on the abstract joys of life.

The woman had a homework card that was titled, “My plans for the future.” There were different phrases lined up as an activity for students to fill in based on their desires and wishes. The card was also bordered with stars and bows which the woman had excitedly colored. The first one read, “When I am in sixth grade, I hope ____.” The woman filled it with, “...have good grades.” The next question asked what she’d like to be when she was in high school. “Narse,” the girl wrote, which she clarified in a comment to be “Nurse.” Things didn’t begin to get crazy just yet.

The next phrase and response read, “When I am 25, I hope I will be a woman.” Lastly, the then 7-year-old confidently noted that she would like to “travel” when she grew up. All of these responses seemed plausible. However, the end of her homework got unhinged and hysterically honest. The question read, “If I could have three wishes for my future,” and left 3 blank boxes for the student to fill in. The woman’s answers did not disappoint. Her three wishes were to “be a woman,” “live,” and “sleep.” Pleased with her work, she remarked in her post, “I was so poetic."

In her caption, she added, “7-year-old me would be proud.” She indicated that she was able to fulfill most of these simple yet profound requests. In a comment, she added that she didn’t end up becoming a nurse as she “couldn’t stand the sight of blood.” Nevertheless, she did manage to fulfill her other wishes. Her answers left adults pondering the true treasures of life that were somehow buried under the pressure of adulting. Many acknowledged her naive and honest wishes and applauded her for still prioritizing them. u/Odinthe Gasby wrote, “I love that you wanted to sleep. Ah! I have a similar paper from school in Kindergarten and I wrote I’d like to be an Owl. Yours is obtainable!”

u/thepurplewtichxx added, “In my current state of life, I’m wishing for being a woman, living and sleeping too! Very relatable.” u/Competitive_Bread817 wrote, “I am a woman who also lives and sleeps and am thrilled to know I am living the dream.” u/GanacheContent7335 said, “Very attainable goals.” Many even tapped into their childhood and were happy to share that they’ve made accomplishments too. u/Billbo332 remarked, “I work in a kitchen, there is unlimited apple juice that I can drink. 7 year old me would think I hit the jackpot.”
