Woman missed her first flight and nearly missed her second — then an unexpected twist helped her reach her destination 3 hours early

She expected her flight to be at 7 p.m., but it was at 5:30 p.m. But she didn't expect what was coming next.

Missing a flight can send anyone into a panic, especially when you're traveling with a group and have no idea how you'll get to your destination. But Bunny, who posts on Instagram as @thebunnyyoung, decided to handle a travel mishap differently when she realized she'd gotten her flight time wrong. In a video shared on September 28, 2026, she explained how choosing to remain calm instead of spiraling into stress led to an unexpected turn of events.

Bunny shared that she had been thinking her flight was at 7 p.m., only to realize as she arrived at the airport that it was actually scheduled for 5:30 p.m. With six tickets to sort out, she initially started panicking, but then caught herself and decided to trust that things would work out. After returning the rental car, she explained the mix-up at the counter and asked about other flights. When she spotted a nonstop flight to Long Beach leaving at 6 p.m., the staff warned her that the airport was too large for them to make it in time. But then she noticed the flight had been delayed by an hour. “Everything always works out for me,” she told herself again, and the delay gave them a chance to catch it. Instead of arriving later after their original connecting flights, they were now set to reach their destination three hours earlier.

Bunny felt reassured that choosing to stay calm had made all the difference, and she was grateful that the unexpected turn of events worked in their favor. Bunny then called her dad to explain the change in plans, and it worked out for him too. Looking back at the experience, Bunny said it reminded her of the old farmer's horse story, which is about how something that seems bad at first can eventually lead to something good. She asked her followers if they knew the story, but her bigger point was about how she chose to react to the unexpected setback.

"Everything is always working out for me when I choose to believe it," she said, adding that there was "no stress needed, no worry needed." Rather than letting the missed flight ruin her day, she focused on what she could do next and ended up with a better travel plan than the one she'd started with. Her message resonated with viewers, who shared the mantra in the comments. Instagram user @briannehoefelmann wrote, "So glad you shared this! Keeping this mantra." Another commenter, @cinthyazeledon, echoed Bunny’s words, writing, "Everything, always, works out for me." Meanwhile, @mindeerosen added, "Yes, everything is always working for you."

Travel plans don't always go as expected, but you never know when the universe might be working in your favor. A similar incident involved a travel creator who panicked at the airport after realizing she'd brought her boyfriend's passport instead of her own. Just when it seemed her trip might be ruined, British Airways staff helped her book a later flight, giving her a chance to continue her plans. Although she'd arrive several hours later than expected, she was relieved that the mistake hadn't cost her the entire trip. Both stories show how being calm and looking for a solution can make a difficult travel day feel a little less overwhelming.
