Travel plans can fall apart when even one small delay throws off the entire schedule. For Dr. Chinasa Elue, a trip with childhood friends nearly ended before it began when she reached the airport with barely ten minutes before departure. After a full day of work and last-minute preparations, the professor and personal coach had already spent time getting her nails done and faced several unexpected problems on the way to her flight. She later shared the stressful experience in a video on Instagram under the username @drchinasaelue, explaining how a series of setbacks left her hoping for a miracle.

Dr. Elue had planned to reach Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with two hours to spare before her 9:45 p.m. flight. However, she lived nearly an hour away and still had to park off-site and take a shuttle. Although she expected to use digital ID and priority services, none of them were available when she arrived at 9:03 p.m. She also had to check her bag and join a long security line. Believing she would miss the flight, she called the airline and asked to be placed on standby for the following day. Somehow, she cleared security and rushed through the airport, only to discover that her gate had changed from Concourse A to B. She finally reached the correct gate ten minutes before, all out of breath and expecting the worst. Then the agent told her, "Oh, we were waiting for you." The plane had apparently been delayed because its toilet was broken and maintenance staff needed to repair it.

The unexpected delay gave Dr. Elue just enough time to reach her flight, turning a stressful evening into a moment she viewed as a blessing. She explained that she had trusted her planning and travel privileges, but none of them had worked as expected. For her, the experience became a reminder that not every setback means things are going wrong. She encouraged others facing difficult situations not to lose hope, as they may not know what is happening behind the scenes.

Missing a flight can be one of the most frustrating travel experiences, but thankfully, an unexpected turn of events can sometimes change the outcome. In another incident, a traveler discovered that she had mixed up her departure time while heading to the airport with five other people. She had planned for a 7 p.m. flight but realized it was actually scheduled for 5:30 p.m. With six tickets to manage, the mistake left her worried about reaching her destination. However, instead of letting panic take over, she decided to stay calm and look for another way to travel. After returning the rental car, she explained the situation to airline staff and checked which flights were still available.

She found a direct flight to Long Beach due to leave at 6 p.m., but staff warned her that the airport was too large to reach the gate in time. Then she discovered that the flight had been delayed by an hour, giving the group a chance to board. She reminded herself, "Everything always works out for me," and this delay meant they could reach their destination three hours earlier than planned. She also called her father to update him about the new arrangements.
