Woman tells curious son her biological mother 'wasn’t a good mom' - his reply left her bawling like a baby
It's a blessing to have caring and supportive parents and a healthy home environment to grow up in. Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed to have these. Some kids grow up in toxic environments with ignorant, absent or abusive parents. A mom, who goes by @FavoriteMWord on X, shared an emotional post, proving it is possible to break generational trauma. In the brief post, the mom recalled a discussion she had with her son before tucking him in bed one night.
"I was putting my son to bed last night and he asked if I ever miss my biological mom," the woman wrote, hinting that she didn't have an easy relationship with her birth mother. So, she told her son that she didn't really miss her mother because she wasn't a "good mom." Placing a kiss on her son's forehead, she was about to exit his room when her son called her back. What he said afterward had the mom and her internet audience bawling.
I’m putting my son to bed last night and he asked if I ever miss my (biological) mom.

Me: Nah, she wasn’t really a good mom.
I kissed his forehead and go to leave out the room.
My son: Hey mom? You’re not like your mom.
Y’all. I was in the hallway BAWLING.
"Hey, mom? You’re not like your mom," her son acknowledged. The mom couldn't help but get emotional and started crying in the hallway. The journey of becoming an exemplary and loving mother to her son had been difficult for her. But, she eventually prevented passing down the generational trauma to her son. "I had no idea this would resonate with so many people but thank you so much. I had to do a lot of unlearning and healing to be the kind of mom I always wished I had and I’ll forever be proud of myself for that," the mom mentioned in a separate comment.
People in the comments section of her post lauded her for becoming an ideal mother who was loved deeply by her child. @Glencocolaflare commented, "Not this making me misty-eyed too. You’re doing amazing girl." @__WassupJuJu assured, "That means you’re doing an excellent job." @ooogie12 joked, "Those Hallmark moments will run your heart through a blender." @Parentingtip2go mentioned, "Amen! So much focus is on bad dads. Sometimes bad people are called moms. So good to be honest with your son. He returned that love right back to you."
God is going to give you messages through those around you. ❤️❤️💪🏾

@Ilv_myCountry remarked, "Kids are the blessing one knows they need until they have it. You have done a good job momma!" @WriterSelenaP added, "My kid told me once I was a really good mom after I'd confessed how bad I felt about their childhood. The divorce, my issues with depression and my financial struggles. She hugged me and told me she only remembered my love and good things. The kids are awesome." There are countless examples of young kids having big feelings and finding unique and innocent ways to express themselves. In yet another emotional story, an 11-year-old boy named Kayden Ely unexpectedly lost his mom.
He was left behind to care for his 4 siblings. Since they did not have a great financial status, Ely couldn't afford to bury his mom. But the little boy knew that he had to fulfill his duty and put his mom to rest. To honor his late mother and complete her last rites, Ely tried his best to raise funds and went around town for money but it didn’t help much. The little boy did not give up. As a relative set up a GoFundMe account for the funeral expenses, Ely crafted a homemade sign in hopes that read, “Please help me bury my mama.” The 11-year-old stood outside with the sign for two days, acquiring as much help as he could. In the end, with all his determination, Ely was able to raise over $80,000 for the funeral.
