Dogs usually have a certain reaction to seeing their human and many of them can get super excited as well. However, a woman wanted to know if her dog would recognize her if she simply passed by him on the street when he was out on his walk. She walked by him like any other passerby and what the dog did next was absolutely priceless and a definitive answer to the woman's question. The person, Aby, who goes by @abyyhunn on TikTok, shared her dog's reaction with the platform.

"Walked past my dog on a walk to see if he would recognize me," the text overlay of the video read. The woman was walking normally on the street and one could see the dog coming in from far away with a person who was walking him. The moment the dog spotted Aby and made eye contact with her, his speed increased a little. They walked towards each other and passed each other for a moment, then both of them turned around. The woman saw that instead of passing her by, the dog pulled on his leash and turned to get to her. He ran towards her immediately, showing that he had recognized her even among a huge crowd of people. The caption read, "I don't know what I was expecting."

According to the Whole Dog Journal, a dog can remember and recognize their human with the help of their scent and face, especially their eyes. One of the strongest ways for a dog to recognize a person is through their scent and they can smell 100 to 10,000 times better than humans, according to the outlet. A dog can get a person's scent from the air, their clothes and even from the things they have touched. Research also supports that dogs remember people's faces as well. A study from Animal Cognition even pointed out that dogs could recognize human faces in photographs and the trait is more common in male dogs.

People shared their thoughts about the incident in the comments section of the video. Many people even pointed out that the dog, Bugz, had an uncanny resemblance to Benny Blanco. @azhairmaven4 wrote, "They know your face, scent, voice. Years could pass and they would still know you." @michaeldiscroll commented, "I walked past my dog on a walk once. The only problem was that she was meant to be in the house, not patrolling on her own." @emrose remarked, "One time I walked past my dog as my roommate was walking her and she got so excited to see me outside that she peed."

@dre pointed out, "What if your dog is looking for you during every walk he takes, but on this day he actually found you and was really excited?" @the_metal_elitist shared, "Bro was so confused at first. He was like, 'Wait, is that mom?...No...wait, yes...yes, it is mom!" @chloe.can expressed, "I love it when dogs think it's you, but they don't want to embarrass themselves, so they smell you first to make sure it's you before risking walking up to a stranger."
