Family heirlooms often carry more than just memories. One woman named Lindsey recently shared an emotional story about a vintage Lenox spice collection she had admired for years. She had searched for the set online in the past, never realizing her late grandmother already had the complete collection stored away. When her family found it while sorting through old belongings and told her it was hers, she felt thrilled. Lindsey expressed in the clip how she was "blown away" after realizing the spice set of her late grandmother had a coloring book with her name on it. She then explained the details, stating, “So last year my mom and my sister were cleaning out my nana’s garage,” when they came across a Lenox spice rack and porcelain spice set. “And I had always wanted that,” she said, adding that she had often searched for the vintage spice set online.
When her mom called to tell her they had found it, she thought it had to be a joke. Her mom reassured her, “Without a doubt, it belongs to you.” When the box was brought over, Lindsey stored it safely in her garage and waited for the right time to open it. In the video, she carefully showed the original Lenox Spice Garden jars, each still neatly packed in its own box. Holding one up to the camera, she said, “I have always wanted them, and the fact that my nana had the whole entire set, never used, was crazy to me.”
Lindsey looked both excited and emotional as she displayed the collection. The jars were spotless and untouched, as if they had been kept aside for years. Curious to see if any paperwork from when her grandmother bought the set was still inside, she began checking through the packaging. That was when her voice broke. “This is the craziest part,” she said before starting to sob. Inside the box, she found a coloring book. When she opened it, she saw her own name written clearly on the first page. The book had once belonged to her as a child. “I don’t know if you believe in the afterlife or signs,” she said tearfully, explaining that she immediately called her mom.
She asked if the coloring book had somehow been placed inside by accident. Her mom insisted she had not opened the spice rack before giving it to her. When they video-called, and she showed the book, her mom was “just flabbergasted.” Neither of them could explain how it got there. Still emotional, she shared what she believed it meant. “I feel like it’s my nana saying, 'Lindsey, this belongs to you, this is my gift to you.'”
