Woman's time-saving life hack for hanging her washing out to dry is becoming the new normal

Doing laundry and getting through the several tasks that follow might eat up a significant amount of a person's time. So when a woman, Lera Lyn, shared how to do one's laundry faster, people on the internet were delighted to know the hack. The life hack shared by the woman would save both time and effort while drying out washing, according to her TikTok page, @leralynn27, as mentioned on Yahoo Life. The key is not to use a laundry basket while setting the clothes out to dry.

Instead of using a laundry basket, Lera would pile the clothes on top of each other and then pile them on top of her shoulder instead of using a laundry basket. She placed the clothes on the washing line one by one and then put one peg in the center. As the items had already been lying flat on her shoulder instead of the basket, she could instantly place them on the line instead of waiting to unfold them and shake them out. She didn't have to bend down over and over again to get clothes from her laundry basket during the entire time. "Show me the life hack that you randomly saw one day that is now an unconscious standard practice in your life," the woman said through the voiceover.

"My laundry hack, which I explain to people and they think I'm crazy! But it actually works!" Lera shared in the caption to the brief clip. "Undies and socks in the dryer, big things on the line. This saves me time and bending down!" the woman added. People appreciated the woman's useful hack in the comments section of the video, per the outlet. They also agreed that the hack worked really well. "I've always done it this way. What on earth is the other thing that so many people have been doing?" Another person remarked, "Work smarter, not harder, really came through in this video."

According to 2UL Laundry, a laundry service's study, the average American family does 300-390 loads of laundry in a year. It is the third most time-consuming chore for women, only behind cooking and cleaning. People spend 4.5 hours each week doing their laundry. Women spend 47 minutes on laundry every day on average, while men spend 38 minutes doing laundry daily. 22 percent of women surveyed even went as far as to say that they would prefer help with laundry over being taken out on a date.
Although drying laundry can be time-consuming every day, it might be especially hard during the winter months. So a professional cleaner and celebrity housekeeper, Gemma Louise, who goes by @diamondgemcleaning on TikTok, shared an important hack to help people dry their laundry faster in the winter months. "To save drying time during the cold months, give every wash an extra spin," Gemma shared. She pointed out that the extra spin would help squeeze out all the extra water from the clothes and hence help the clothes dry out faster once they are put out to dry. People on the internet appreciated the simple yet useful cleaning hack from the professional and revealed that it worked like a charm.
