Sheep are created with the habitual instinct of being with their herd. They roam together, graze together and literally move around together. Moreover, sheep are known to need their shepherd as a constant guide and companion. Without them, the little fluffy animals are lost, chaotic, and not immune to the various dangers around them. When Cammy Wilson, a presenter on BBC and a sheep shearer, got to know the news of a sheep called Fiona, he was bereaved and wanted to help her out, per BBC.

Fiona had been stranded and lost for 2 years on the foot of the Cromarty Firth cliff. Seeking help from four other farmer friends, Graeme Parker, Als Couzens, Ally Williamson and James Parker, Wilson set out to look for the creature, who was given the title of “world’s loneliest sheep.” The group of five laid out a plan and tracked Fiona’s journey through social media and news outlets as best as they could. Soon, they learned that the farmer who lost Fiona was being ill-treated due to misinformation from the media. The story went wrong and people were bent on judging the man. Understanding his plight as an owner of sheep, Wilson decided to try his best.

"I just hated seeing the misinformation online, the comments from people not in the know about 'farmers don't care.' People were starting to show up on his land and it wasn't fair,” he mentioned. When they realized she was around Cromarty Firth's cliffs, they spared no time and went to rescue the sheep. However, the reality was harder. With the cliffs, the ground and unprecedented factors, the 5 were venturing upon a risky mission. "The only difference between us being heroes and idiots is a slip of the foot," he recalled. Nevertheless, they went in search of Fiona. With two of the farmers looking out above, the other three went into the area, looking for the sheep. They found her in a cave and were carefully able to get her up to safety.

After being examined and found perfectly fine physically, the five decided to take Fiona home. Sharing a glimpse of the scared, exhausted sheep in the back of their car, Wilson shared a post on his Facebook Page, “The Sheep Game.” “We’ve named her Fiona and she’s now safe and well and heading to a well-known Scottish Farm park,” he said. “The rescue was epic!” Wilson added. Fiona was still in a strenuous condition, with fleece gone yellow and black and in need of much pampering. However, she seemed fairly comfortable with the 5 men who adorably tried to calm her down and interact with her.

In several other posts, Wilson followed up on Fiona’s health. He shared that she was in good condition and was getting back to relaxing freely. In one of the posts, they even got a chance to groom the sheep. Taking out a super-thick coat of dried, dead fleece, Fiona was shining bright. “We had a big job today! Fiona was amazing, she sat perfectly still the whole way through. I’ve never worked with such a calm sheep. It was incredible!” he wrote.
