The bond between humans and dogs is undeniably special and parting ways with your beloved fur buddy could get painful. Parting ways with foster animals equally affects the kids of a household and they have their ways of expressing their emotions. A 6-year-old boy named Roman Duncan just wanted people to know that his foster dog was the best pet out there. According to PEOPLE, a Pitbull mix pup named Maggie from North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) was on the lookout for a foster family.

The young puppy was too young to get adopted when she was rescued. Maggie needed a proper place to get acquainted with humans so she could get comfortable in her forever home shortly. So Duncan's family from Louisiana took Maggie in to foster her and teach her basic obedience skills. Little Duncan bonded with the pup quickly and it greatly helped the canine as she grew up in a loving environment.

From the early days of fostering Maggie, Duncan's family made it clear to the little boy that another family would eventually adopt her and she would have to part ways with him. Despite knowing that his fur buddy wouldn't stay at their house longer, Duncan couldn't deny the friendship he and Maggie had formed during her short stay. Gradually, Maggie grew up and was old enough to be placed for adoption. Duncan had to let her go to her temporary shelter at NSALA's in Port Washington. That was when Duncan decided to write some letters to Maggie's future owners.

He made sure to highlight all her positive traits in those letters and hoped that Maggie's new family would love her as much as he did. "Dear Maggie's new family," Duncan wrote. "Maggie is so cute. Maggie loves to play fetch. Maggie is potty trained. Maggie is the best dog ever. She loves cuddles. Maggie loves other dogs. She loves kids. We love Maggie and we hope you do too," the young boy wrote high praises for the dog in his crooked writing. Duncan decided to slide his letters between Maggie's paperwork before she was sent to New York. The NSALA team was surprised to see what Duncan did and made sure that his letters reached Maggie's forever family in the future. ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ

Just like Duncan, a teenage boy who loved dogs decided to document every dog he would pet. 14-year-old Gideon created an account titled @IvePetThatDog on X, where he regularly shared the simple act of petting a dog. The teenage boy started sharing descriptions and emotions of every dog he met. He got to know a little more about each canine encounter and expressed the same on his page. Eventually, the boy took things one step ahead by sharing posts about canines that required adoption, treatment or other resources. Over the years, Gideon also started posting about cats and is expanding his goodwill, petting one animal at a time.
