Everyday food moments can turn into big online stories when cultures collide. This happened when an American creator shared his first taste of a famous British treat, Terry's Chocolate Orange, and sparked a debate far beyond his screen. The TikTok video, shared by @redbusruss on November 25, 2025, showed him reviewing the chocolate loved across the UK. Viewers enjoyed his honest reactions, but one small choice during the tasting quickly caught national attention and even led to him being mentioned on the radio.

In the initial video, Russ stood in front of a counter and said he would be trying more British food. The onscreen text read, "American trying weird British food," giving the audience a hint of what was coming. He held up a Terry’s Chocolate Orange and explained, “These things are an absolute Christmas classic here in the UK.” He unwrapped the orange foil and screamed in excitement when the chocolate ball appeared. “It’s literally an accurate size of an orange, made with real orange oil,” he read from the package. Then he joked, “So in a way what I'm about to eat is a real orange.” The moment that shocked viewers came next. Instead of breaking the segments apart, he bit straight into it. Pieces fell everywhere as he said it was “kind of crumbly” and messy.

Russ continued eating as slices cracked and dropped onto the counter. “Yeah, I can definitely taste the orange,” he said, adding that he wished it hadn't fallen apart so easily. When he noticed the center, he laughed and said, “Oh my God, wow, this even has that stem inside of real oranges.” After a few more bites, he decided, “Yeah, this is definitely a winner in my book.” He rated it “7 out of ten,” praising the flavor but saying it was hard to eat. He also mentioned there were many flavors and ended with, “Being British is fun.” The clip quickly spread, passing 5.1 million views, with many viewers pointing out he was eating it the wrong way.

The video grew so popular that it reached UK national radio. In another post, Russ filmed himself driving while the radio played. Text on screen explained, “I posted a video of me eating a chocolate orange wrong and ended up on national radio.” A radio host said they saw a video of “a guy called Russ." Then continued, "We saw him try a chocolate orange for the very first time," eating it by holding it together and "taking big bites of it as if it was an apple or something like that.” Russ laughed loudly at that moment, reflecting on his innocent mistake.
