At first, he assumed his son had forgotten something important. He had just pulled away from the school when his phone buzzed. He wondered what his son could have left behind, but when he opened the message, it had nothing to do with schoolwork, a forgotten bag, or anything else he might need to turn the car around for.
The text read: “Hey, sorry. I was distracted when I got out of the car. I forgot to tell you that I love you, and I'll see you later.” It was the kind of text a parent reads twice, just to take it in. Illuminati shared the moment, saying he was “going to be riding that high all day.” At 17, kids are busy building their own lives, and they don't always stop to say what they feel. So an unprompted “I love you” from a teenager can land differently. Illuminati captioned the video, “Punched me right in the feels.”
