Chokita writes and edits stories about people, experiences, and everyday moments that reveal something about how we live, connect, and see one another. She is drawn to finding meaning in the ordinary: an unexpected act of kindness, a complicated relationship, a fleeting encounter, or a cultural moment that stays with us. Her work explores identity, memory, belonging, and the small details that make people’s stories feel deeply familiar. She began her career in lifestyle journalism with SheThePeople, The New Indian Express (Indulge), and Deccan Chronicle, covering culture, art, fashion, food, entertainment, and the people behind them. Along the way, she interviewed independent artists, musicians, filmmakers, and stand-up comedians. She later moved into advertising as a copywriter, creating content for clients across real estate, education, and healthcare. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrated Journalism from the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. Across every medium, her approach has remained the same: to listen closely, look for the human detail, and tell stories that make readers pause. She believes the most compelling ideas are often hiding in plain sight within moments that leave us feeling a little more connected to one another. When she isn't writing, Chokita can usually be found with a non-fiction graphic novel and a cup of coffee, browsing wildlife and art magazines, wandering through museums, or getting lost in the layered guitars and introspective lyrics of alternative rock. On some days, she's revisiting a Quentin Tarantino film; on others, she's reading about food anthropology or reading about the meticulous craftsmanship that defines Hermès. She keeps a close eye on Matthieu Blazy's evolving design language in fashion and rarely says no to Daft Punk on a long walk.
