Podcaster and content creator Alicia Jay was waiting at a restaurant for her table when her server came to take her to her seat. As she stood up, the man noticed her 6'6" height and reacted with surprise. His reaction soon turned into a joke about how tall she was. Jay did not find the joke amusing, but she stayed calm and addressed the comment directly. The moment was shared under the handle @tallswag in an Instagram post on June 12, 2026, where she explained what happened in detail and why she felt the need to respond.
The server first reacted with "whoa" after seeing Jay standing. He then stood on his toes and acted as if he were shouting toward the sky, making a joke about her height by pretending she was "as tall as the sky." Jay then quickly told the man, "You can admire my height without mocking my height." Her direct response changed the mood, and the server immediately apologized. He also explained that he was actually jealous of how tall she was. The woman accepted his apology and said she appreciated his honesty after his attempt at humor had gone too far. The exchange showed how a simple comment about someone's body can instantly become uncomfortable.
The podcaster then used the incident to speak about how tall women may be treated when their height stands out. She was sitting in an economy seat and was not taking more space than allowed, but the man in front of her could not fully recline his seat. He tried pushing his seat back several times, even though it kept touching her knees. He then turned around and complained to her, "I can't recline my seat because of your knees."
Tae was not sure what she could do to help and simply stated the obvious to the man, saying, "Well, yeah, my legs are there." The tall woman was already trying from her side not to cause any inconvenience to others while also ensuring she was comfortable during the flight. The man's statement, however, left her a little taken aback, and she also joked later that she was somehow expected to "detach" her legs to accommodate him.
