Man kept shaming her armpit hair at the gym after she told him to stop — then she pulled out a photo he never expected
Many women are coming up with creative ways to get rid of creepy strangers who can’t take no for an answer. A woman named Charlotte Jolley shared a post on her Instagram page, @charlotterosejolley, on August 2, 2026, recalling how a weird man approached her at the gym and began commenting on her body hair. Despite multiple attempts to make it clear that she didn’t want to engage with him, he kept giving his opinion. Ultimately, she pulled out one photo and left him speechless.

Jolley was working out and minding her own business when the man approached her. He mumbled something, but since she had headphones on, she couldn’t hear him. She took them off to ask what he had said, and he told her she was “hot,” but somehow didn’t pass the imaginary test of pleasing him. He told her he couldn’t be interested in her even though she was good-looking because of her hairy armpits. The woman was shocked, but the entitled creep repeated his opinion three times. After multiple attempts to ask him to stop talking, she had to shut him up in her own way. She told him she had to show him something, pulled out a photo from her college days in which she had a severe arm infection, and showed it to him.

He was instantly disgusted and at a loss for words. Jolley had tried other ways to get him to leave, but in vain. When he first suggested that he liked women who shave, she shot back, saying she liked men who were over 6’5". The creep got offended and noted that men can’t control their height, but women can decide to shave. She quickly added that men also had the ability to control themselves and not approach a stranger with unsolicited advice. “You thought I was just going to welcome that?” she asked.
It’s humiliating and unethical for anyone to pass judgment on another person without being asked. Approaching another person to talk may not be a bad thing, but what you say is important. What matters even more is understanding when the other person is not interested and respectfully backing off. In a similar encounter, a man wouldn’t take no for an answer and kept trying to initiate a conversation with one woman at a bar.

She first told him she wasn’t interested, and then made it very clear that she wanted to be by herself. However, he kept throwing compliments her way, each getting more absurd and uncomfortable. Ultimately, he told her long nails were great and would be good for “scratching,” making an inappropriate sexual suggestion. She turned his own words around on him and said, “You went to that, and I went to scratching your eyes out.” He got offended and said she was being too aggressive, but the plan worked because he ultimately left. “Sometimes you have to be a little aggressive when people can’t take the hint,” the woman remarked.
