Pet parent goes out to buy medication for her dogs—returns with a gift no one expected

Forming an instant connection with an animal might feel like pure joy to a human. Especially when it happens at an unexpected moment. A woman, Hannah, had gone out to get a bottle of ear cleaner for one of her dogs from the pet store, per Newsweek. However, after she reached there, she noticed a shy cat who had taken a strange liking to her, per a Reddit post by the woman, who goes by u/adhd_exploring on the platform. It is certain that Hannah returned with more than an ear cleaner that day.

"I went to the pet store to get ear stuff for Lily (one of my dogs) and wandered by the cats. When I walked by her, she came right up to the glass and started making biscuits," the woman said, talking about her new cat, Signe. Hannah knelt down to greet the feline, who continued making biscuits. According to PetMD, many cats do it for a sense of calm and relaxation. Domestic cats might also do the action to show their affection to their human or to mark their territory. Soon enough, a lady came out and told Hannah that the kitten was super "skittish" and she had never seen her do such a thing before.

"There was a family meeting cats before me and the dad leaned down and tried to grab her while basically shouting and scared the c*** out of her," Hannah recounted. She used an entire tube of a cat treat to bring the cat out of the blanket cubby after that. The woman eventually returned to the store with her husband and the cat immediately came up to the glass after she recognized Hannah. "When we stepped out to do the paperwork she stood up on her hind legs and watched me through the windows! She has sniffed and been sniffed by our other cat and all the dogs. No hissing or anything!" The cat was camped out in the house's second bathroom and was getting used to her new home. "Meet Signe! (See-nuh) Norse for Victorious!"
In one of the comments, Hannah revealed, "They say she came all the way from Alabama to Minnesota. She spent almost 3 months in the window of the pet store! She's purring now, so I think she's happy she landed here." People celebrated the woman's newfound bond with the cat in the comments section of the thread. u/afdc92 wrote, "What a sweetheart! My cat was rubbing against her cage when I passed her at the shelter (I’d gone 'just to look'- yeah right) and when I picked her up, she immediately cuddled into my chest. Of course I brought her home!"

I know everyone's saying it, but she definitely picked you. I think there's really something to be said about kindred souls and animals sensing who we are. She knew you were her human." u/Brock_Savage shared, "Thank you for rescuing that poor baby animal. She seems like a thoughtful and intelligent little creature."
