Pregnant wife finally realized her husband's love language after 8 years—while sharing chips together

Some people might show their love through small and consistent gestures. A woman realized that her husband had been spoiling her with one with little action while they were sharing a bag of chips. She noticed something that the man had been doing for her for eight years and was quite emotional because of his way of showing love. The woman, u/WhyHaveIContinued, shared her moment of realization with Reddit and people were in awe of what the man did for her.

"My husband has been spoiling me for eight years and I never realized until now!" the woman explained. She was sharing a bag of tortilla chips and salsa with her husband one day. "I always reached for the bigger/intact chips as I hate getting salsa on my fingers." When they were sharing the chips, she noticed that her husband had stopped eating and nudged the bag towards him. The man pointed out that there weren't any broken chips left in the bag and that he knew that she liked the bigger chips. "I said we can share it since it is both of our food." The husband wondered out loud if his wife had never really noticed that he had been saving her favorite-sized chips for her for the eight years they had been together.

"I am too pregnant, I want to cry from how sweet this man is," the woman expressed. She had never told him that she liked the bigger chips and hadn't explained her reason for it either. "He just observed me and figured it out." The wife clarified that he could eat whatever chips he wanted and she would deal with the fragments once she reached the bottom of the bag. "This was a week ago and I started to notice that he was still picking out the fragments," she shared. People appreciated the man's way of showing his love in the comments section of the thread and shared their own similar experiences.
One user shared, "My wife and I have been married for 21 years, last May and had known each other for a decade before that. Early on, while we were dating, she mentioned to me how the last bite of an ice cream cone was always the best one and she hated that there was only one of them per cone. From that moment on, I've been giving her the last bite of my cones. She does realize this and has mentioned it to many people throughout the years. Several years ago, I discovered Muddy Bites. They are, basically, the last bite of the cone with a bit of solid chocolate, caramel, etc. at the bottom of them. I surprised her with them one day and have always made sure that we have some on hand. They are great if you store the bag you are working on in the freezer."

u/ElephantLittle9302 commented, "My parents would play a game where if one had chocolate and they would take a bite and pass it back and forth. Neither wanted to take the last bite, so it would be a small bit of chocolate and one would take a tiny nibble and pass it back. Turns out my dad was cheating and not taking nibbles at all, just letting my mom have it." u/Sandwidge_Boom remarked, "My fiancé knows I love the end pieces of good, crusty bread (like a nice sourdough loaf with a good thick crust), so he always saves them for me. And I know he loves the corner pieces of lasagna, so I plate those for him. It’s the little things!"
