Woman’s funeral took an unexpected turn — the reason behind the delay had mourners laughing through tears

However, this reminder came through in a rather astonishing manner. The daughter and all those mourning learned that the burial rites would be delayed. The reason holds a bit of hopeful humor that comforts many.
It was likely that the late mom passed away due to Alzheimer's, per a comment from the daughter. It read, “Alzheimer's is a monster and she's always taught me, if you can't have a good time, then have a memorable time.” This teaching resurfaced in an unexpected way during the funeral. Things took a turn when the attendees learned that the burial was delayed. The reason gave them a one-of-a-kind reminder from the deceased, making it all the more personal and touching.
Turns out, the hearse was locked in with the keys trapped inside while the late mom’s coffin was still in the vehicle. No one had a spare set of keys and it was a sudden worry until hope showed up. “I'm genuinely grateful to the local PD for not having a legitimate emergency and taking the time to jimmy the lock on the hearse,” the woman wrote. She added that due to their effort, the delay was sustained for only 10 minutes. “Waiting on a locksmith could've been 2 hours,” he explained. She noted that the situation was “sitcom worthy” and became only a “mild annoyance” because help arrived in time.
“Apparently, it's never happened to them before, and I'm willing to bet they get an extra set of keys for the office moving forward,” she remarked.
