Sometimes life throws you into dreadful situations where only fate can give you a way out. A grandma named Tamra Kendrick met with a brutal accident on November 7, 2025, PEOPLE reported. She was left in a life-or-death situation with profuse bleeding, multiple broken bones and an unpredictable outcome after colliding with a pickup truck. Fortunately, a military man, quick on his feet, who happened to be nearby, performed a simple act that helped save her life. Tamra was reportedly babysitting her grandkids as their parents were on vacation. She was driving to get to them when the crash occurred.

No one else was in the vehicle except Tamra. While the opposite driver faced minor injuries, the grandmother was left in a horrifying state. Her son, Brandon, detailed what happened after the crash. In a GoFundMe, he mentioned that the accident had likely changed the course of his mother’s life forever. The woman suffered many life-threatening injuries, including a ruptured spleen, fractured left hip socket, broken left hand, a right leg fracture, broken ribs, collapsed lung, brain bleed, lacerated liver, and multiple facial fractures,” the GoFundMe read.

What followed in these past days has been harrowing. She has had one injury after another and a couple of emergency procedures to keep the woman alive. As an otherwise thriving and hearty woman, the accident left her and her family completely shocked. The family also received the devastating news that Tamra would require an emergency surgery to amputate her leg. The family was shattered by the turn of events and how a simple moment changed all of their lives. Nevertheless, they are grateful that she is still alive and have good Samaritans to thank for it.

While acknowledging the medics, passerby and those who helped, her other son, Bryce, extended thanks to a military man whose thoughtful act saved her, per KSL. He noted how the military man immediately approached Tamra and took out a tourniquet to wrap it around her and stop the bleeding. “If they hadn’t thrown a tourniquet on Mom, she wouldn’t be here,” he said. "That was the first miracle that happened and she was able to get to the hospital, so we feel super blessed," Brandon remarked. The kids are calling their mom’s life-saving rescue a “miracle” and are grateful. Ever since, they have been steadily proceeding with her as she goes through surgeries and treatments.

On November 10, Kendrick shared an update on the GoFundMe page, revealing that the amputation and a few other surgeries were successful. “A few hours ago, Mom even opened her eyes and got a few blinks in before fading back to a sedated sleep. The most recent update revealed that though the procedures were successful, Tamra is still in a lot of pain and is “groggy,” unable to comprehend the situation. Nevertheless, the family is by her side through it all. “Miracles continue to happen along this journey and our family feels so much love, support and peace,” Brandon noted. So far, the family has raised over $71,136. Their goal is to raise a total of $125,000 to help with treatment, rehab, surgeries and the many other expenses.
