TikTok influencer convinced woman to let him stay at her apartment — then one video on her FYP the next day got him kicked out
A date can go wrong because of something as simple as a lack of chemistry, awkward conversation, or mismatched expectations — or because one person ignores the other’s boundaries. A Texas-based TikTok creator, Riss Flann, who goes by @riss.net, said she brushed aside her initial doubts about a TikTok influencer she had been talking to for months until a video landed on her FYP. In the clip shared on January 14, 2026, she explained how she and the 37-year-old had initially connected through social media. Although she was not immediately feeling a romantic connection, she agreed to meet him for drinks. After hitting it off, they made plans for the next few weekends, but these quickly changed after his behavior.
She let him stay at her apartment for the weekend, despite having second thoughts about the arrangement. The next day, while she was checking her phone, a video appeared wherein he talked about dating a woman who hated physical intimacy. He said, “I once met a woman who hated kissing,” and made it look like he was a victim. When she confronted him about the video, he told her he got the idea from ChatGPT. According to her, the story was based on their weekend, and about 70% of the clip was focused on her dislike of physical affection in general, while the ending was fabricated. Though he accurately mentioned that she refused physical contact, he didn't share the entire story.
After a good first meeting, the duo made plans to see each other again, with both willing to travel to each other's cities. As per their discussion, she would fly to his place first and stay at a hotel. However, he insisted on visiting her and staying at her apartment from Friday through Monday. Reluctantly, she agreed, and as the day approached, she started feeling uneasy about the idea. When she suggested he get a hotel room instead, he got agitated. Riss eventually gave in because she did not want him to feel unwelcome. Later, the man asked if he could sleep without wearing any clothes. She immediately refused. He still came into the bedroom naked. He even tried to make physical advances at her, but she rejected him because his ignorance already put her off. For her, it was the end of the connection, but the influencer insisted on extending his stay up to Tuesday.
On Monday, when she was working, he used the time to make the video about her. According to a LinkedIn post from TED speaker and author Dr. Marwa Azab, many influencers do almost anything for the likes, and not all their stories are true. "Influencers try to convince listeners that they are victims, that they deserve better," she explained, adding that their woven stories can contribute to dysfunctional relationships, dysfunctional families, and lonely listeners. For Riss, talking behind her back in her own home was bad enough, and the man added to it by lying to her face. Without any further discussion, she asked him to leave and get a hotel room until it was time for his flight. After he left, he blocked her. Looking back, Riss said she regretted ignoring her initial gut feeling. Her experience offered one takeaway: if someone is making you feel uncomfortable, don't override that feeling.
