Woman getting a divorce used the most unhinged method to break the news on family chat — fellow women are loving it
Breaking personal news to family is rarely simple because the person living it often ends up managing everyone else’s reactions, too. While some people keep things quiet for as long as they can, others decide that if the news is going to drop anyway, it might as well drop with style. One such unique style was witnessed by a woman, who goes by @morgs.chat on TikTok, when her sister dropped her divorce news into the group chat. While separation is already difficult news to digest, that was not the shocking part. She was far more astonished by the way her sister chose to break the news, and the internet is loving it. She shared the video on TikTok on August 7, 2025.

In the clip, captioned “Man, this girl is savage,” she explained that her sister had apparently announced the divorce in the family group chat in the most unexpected way possible. Instead of sending a normal message, she shared a dramatic AI-generated video featuring an animated dog dressed casually, wearing stacks of gold chains, and holding a phone. Sitting as if it were delivering breaking news, the dog began narrating, “Big family update. There will be a funeral this year for the relationship you all were hoping I'd keep alive. Spoiler! It’s dead.” Already, it was hard not to laugh at the chaotic delivery, but the voice's deadpan seriousness made it even better.
This shows that sometimes humor does what long explanations cannot, turning an uncomfortable moment into one everyone can laugh about later. The comment section was laughing and applauding the woman at the same time. In fact, many were even sharing their own unusual ways of announcing their divorces. @Skaboske92 mentioned, "Better than me. I didn't tell anyone, just let them figure it out," while @slamb2013 recounted, "My ex-sister-in-law just 'left the chat' and that was that."
@carole_lover_of_wine expressed, "Making it sound like she killed a plant! Love it!" Whether it was her story or the anecdotes from others, this proves that divorce is a trying time, and people have their own ways of dealing with it. Some prefer silence, while others, like the creator's sister, would rather stage a dramatic spectacle.
However, much of this comes down to someone not wanting to answer imposing or intrusive questions before they are ready. So, it's better to keep others guessing or shock them so much that they do not feel the need to ask anything. In the end, people may not remember the divorce announcement itself, but they will definitely remember how she delivered it, and that in itself is a victory.
