Children can understand the purest connections because of their simplicity and kindness. They can fathom love better than most adults do and this reality paves the way for so many more beautiful understandings. A mom named Elisha Trask (@elisha.trask) revealed that her 3-year-old daughter, Grace, seemed to have this kind of understanding. The mom was initially terrified and embarrassed when the little girl started yelling “Daisy” at a random stranger. The elderly woman approached the mother with a revelation that stopped her in her tracks. Trask explained that she and her daughter were casually browsing aisles and that Grace was “chatty, bouncy, and pointing at everything.”

What made her behavior suddenly surprising was when she tugged at her mum and pointed to an elderly woman. “Daisy! Look, mom, it's Daisy!” the little girl repeatedly said. Trask instantly felt awkward at the idea of her child pointing at a stranger and yelling. “I glanced at the woman. She was sweet-looking, older, in a floral blouse. I gave Grace a little ‘shh’ and whispered, ‘Let’s not point, okay?’” Then mom recalled. Nevertheless, the girl was adamant with her words. “She just kept saying it, soft and sing-songy. 'Daisy…Daisy…Daisy,'” the caption revealed.

For the mom, it was like a tantrum her daughter was throwing that stemmed from a random observation the 3-year-old might have made. She couldn’t understand how to stop her and just decided to move away from the stranger. To her surprise, the shopper approached her and Grace. She had tears in her eyes and revealed, “My mother’s name was Daisy. And today is her birthday." “I just froze. That lump-in-your-throat kind of stillness,” the mom said. She had no idea that her 3-year-old’s seemingly bizarre babbling actually held such profound importance. “Isn’t it something how children just… know things? How do they feel things we don’t even say out loud?” the stranger shared with Trask.

The mom had to immediately reevaluate how she perceived the entire situation. “I nodded. Completely undone. Because it didn’t feel random. It felt divine. Like heaven slipped something sacred into our ordinary day, and Grace — at three years old…picked it up effortlessly,” Trask remarked. It pushed the mom to ponder something significant. “Kids don’t second-guess what they feel. They haven’t learned yet to silence what they sense. Maybe that’s why heaven still speaks to them so clearly,” the mom said. She added that the encounter, though seemingly absurd, turned out to be “a gift wrapped in a name” for a stranger.

Leaving behind the lesson she learned, Trask said, “Sometimes the Spirit doesn’t shout. It whispers through the littlest voices…and if we’re paying attention, it sounds a whole lot like love.” People were moved by this experience and how love shows up when you need it most through the random visits. Many shared how they witnessed similar poignant joys through kids. @breakingglad said, “I kept praying that God could hug me so I could feel his love. A random toddler at the beach sprinted towards me and hugged me out of the blue.” @drhoneycarandang added, “This is great. The wisdom of children manifested so clearly.”
